'Girl on Fire' inspired Dragon Scale Hoodsby ~Arexandria

I would like to first start by stating that I am truly and completely astounded by the Hunger Games Trilogy. I read the book before the movie even came out and they were so amazing I simply had to see the movie. For a movie that sticks very close to the book, I was impressed and pleased. That being said I bought the movie when it came out and watched it the moment I got home from work. I have to admit that I then became inspired again by Katniss, the "Girl on Fire."

I crocheted two hoods, the other hood can be seen here on my etsy website as well. I wished to make it into a gradient effect where it starts from red and ends up white. Generally with fire, the close to red/orange the color the "cooler" the fire is. The brighter and whiter or even blue, the hotter it burns. I wanted to present that kind of effect with this in tribute to the "Girl on Fire."

I like to call this stitch dragon-scale even though the technical crochet term is "crocodile scale" I believe the dragon-scale is fabulous for any dragon fantasy lover! Can be made in any colors!

This hood is hand crocheted and great for LARPing Garb or Renaissance garb and the like. This hood can be both very warm and very breezy. I personally crochet these items myself and use one for my garb that is white with golden scales. This is a great addition to any costume and looks amazing. Not to mention it feels pretty great while wearing it.
