Fantasy Leather Leaf Barrette - Green Birch

I have been on many journeys through many strange and wonderful lands. In my travels I have seen many amazing things. One of the most amazing things that I have found that I can bring back to the lovers of the fantasy arts are these amazing and abstractly colored Flora.

These are my first leather submission to my armor for sell. These are amazingly beautiful up close and I have to admit that the pictures don't do them justice. These are fantasy leaves made from leather. They can be created in ANY color.

The example shown here is something I am lovingly calling "Green" Birch. It is a layer of several greens over a mixed gray and Pewter with a topping of silver.

The leaves are cut from 3-4 oz tooling leather. Then they have the veins hand tooled into them. Each leaf is them hand molded using water and then let to dry. After this process they are layered with three coats of black leather dye to allow them to stiffen even further with a base three coats of a selected color. Then the other colors are sponge painted on top. I normally choose to use acrylics for the amazing durability. The leaves are then coated on the back and front with two coats of leather sheen for an amazing reflective quality. The leaves are then attached to a hair barrette using a hard drying resin, gel super glue, or craft adhesive.

These are a perfect addition for any woodland/pixie/faerie/elf costume and garb or for any other thing imaginable. They are also amazing for every day wear and look even better when the sun catches them!

Each leaf has a small signature of initials of the creator painted on the underside of the barrette. Each and every leaf though similar in shape will be OOAK because they are hand painted and molded and will never turn out the same!
